The 3 EEEz

Over time, I’ve come across loads of talk about impermanence, transitory states, everything being (essentially) ephemeral. I very poignantly recall pondering over this word during my DHHS Swim Meets …

I’d be up there on the starting blocks amidst all the madness, hoping to avoid last place (I was always pretty close ;-D) … then in the water thinking “this is an ephemmmmmeral moment” … n seconds of chaos and then I’ll be permitted to breathe normally again !! ;-D

Doh !! To this day, I still chant beautiful words (& 80s tunes ;-D) to myself when I’m in the water !! It helps regulate my breathing, my strokes, my flowwww … oh my here’s a fun thing for those of you who are tangentially inclined … tangents are ephemeral aren’t they … just that one itty bitty point that touches the circle and off we go … hmmmm … ;-D

Oh mannnn … this word is a book in and of itself !! ;-D I don’t want to get all weird on y’all here but I enjoy musing about Things Ethereal … mainly when I’m out in nature, but also when I’m enthralled by music, writing, coding, etc !! ;-D I have always been fascinated by creativity, especially what musicians pull off …

I recall being awe-stricken as a young girl that musicians could come up w/ new riffs. I played the piano and was able to plunk out notes that had already been written, but how oh how did the Mozarts et al come up w/ that stuff in the 1st place ?!?! And don’t even get me started on the creation of the 1st damn piano … OMG how did anyone think up how build that ?!?! ;-D

Back to the word Ethereal …

For years I thought that I loved a song entitled “Ethereal” by Lenny Kravitz. But lo and behold … while looking it up for insertion into this post, I’ve learned that I’ve been wrong about its title for at least the past few years … maybe I had it right back in the day but the years twisted it all up …

Agora !! ;-D Unless the Internet is tripping me up completely, it now appears to me that the song is “Eleutheria” … a Greek word ?!?! Perhaps I’ll dive deeper into this another time … for now I’m just going to enjoy the ethereal & eleutherial (sp?) nature of this journey !! ;-D

I’m one of those peeps who truly believes that laughter is the best medicine. When I turned 40, I wrote a wee coffee table book for my kiddos and dedicated a whole spread to Laughter and its importance in life. Now that the kiddos are older, I could write a follow-up and call it Effervescence … my SAT follow-up coffee table book … E-gads Batgirl … that sounds like a plan !! ;-D

While trying to figure out what to write here, the universe served up for me this truly effervescent podcast that had me laughing out loud like it’s nobody’s business !! So here it is … for anyone who’d like to invite some effervescence into their day …
